Incoming Freshman

This year’s admissions cycle is unlike any other! The health and well-being of our students and their families are of the utmost importance to us here at ECHS. Additionally, we recognize the challenges that social distancing restrictions will present for students interested in registering and sitting for entrance exams. Because standardized testing is only one piece of a student’s overall application, we do not want it to be a barrier for entry to East Catholic. Therefore, we have decided to not require an entrance exam this year unless students would like to be considered for a merit scholarship. Please note, in order to be in consideration for a merit scholarship, a student must have taken the HSPT online (through ECHS) by November 14, 2020

Please note, the first step in the admission process is completing a student file. The completed file includes the following:

  • A completed ECHS application
  • Writing sample: Personal statement
  • Signed record release form returned to your current school. The school will help us obtain the following:
    • 7th grade report card and most current grades (We accept progress reports if report card not available yet.) 
    • Standardized test scores (e.g. CMTs, PSAT, or other state testing)
    • School evaluation (We will send the form to the school.)
    • Special education plan (whenever applicable)

Admissions Steps

  • Complete ECHS application
  • Submit required documents - see above
  • Await review of application to determine admittance
  • Apply for tuition assistance
  • Register and pay registration fee
  • Course selection

Note to Parents of Incoming Freshmen

To maintain compliance with state guidelines, please do not schedule the required physical exam prior to July 1. The completed Health Assessment Record forms are due before the end of 9th grade and must be completed by the physician at the time of the exam and  turned directly in to the school nurse (not the Athletics Department).
